A Gordon Ramsay trained chef who was made redundant at the start of Summer last year has created a flourishing food delivery business.

Theo, a Clapham resident, created Out of the Box Food from his flat delivering meals to his neighbours and friends.

The business quickly grew and now cooks and delivers over 100 meals a week.

Out of the Box Food aims to provide 'delicious chef-prepared meals that are wholeheartedly healthy, consciously prepared and delivered for free'.

The meals simply require reheating whenever customers are ready.

Theo is currently operating the business from a kitchen in Earlsfield.

"The community response has been outstanding," Theo told Nub News.

"From starting from my flat to building a flourishing business, the support I have received along the way has been unbelievable.

"Given the times we find ourselves in the sense of coming together, supporting each other and shopping local has been so great to see."

Theo believes that Out of the Box is especially important right now during the pandemic.

"Eating delicious food is harder than ever right now with restaurants closed and many people being forced to cook themselves or rely on unhealthy and unsatisfying takeaways and convenience foods," Theo told us.

"At this time people have found that they have had to sacrifice taste, health or time, with Out of the Box you there is no compromise on any of these requirements to eat well."

Theo worked for Gordon Ramsay at his three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

"Working for Gordon Ramsay was a great experience.

"To learn from industry leaders and to have the Gordon-trained seal of approval has really accelerated my career and given me the tools to strive high in the food industry.

"Was always hard work though."
