St George's Hospital has announced that they have discharged over 2,000 patients with Covid-19.

A spokesperson for St George's Hospital Trust said: "While we're still seeing the devastating impact of the virus, this is a testament to the incredible work of team St George's over the past year."

This important milestone has been met with support and positivity from local residents.

One resident said: "That's a wonderful milestone — and testament to the dedication and professionalism of your staff. Thank you for all you do."

Another said: "Just amazing. Thank you, wonderful heroes. You are all just truly a God send."
