Famous quizmaster Richard Osman has praised a former Balham FC player who is making a name for himself in the Championship.

Osman is a big Fulham supporter - and last night Fabio Carvalho, just 18, put in a Man of the Match performance as they defeated Millwall 2-1 at The Den.

Carvalho, who played for Balham FC for three years as a youth player before joining the Cottagers, scored once and assisted once to put his team at the top of the league.

Osman rates him so highly that he thinks it will be only a matter of time before he flies the nest at Craven Cottage.

In a tweet, he said : "This is the season the rest of the world wakes up to Fabio Carvalho. What a youth system Fulham have. Let's enjoy him while we have him."

The Pointless host wasn't the only one who was delighted. Balham FC also tweeted about how "proud" they were.

A tweet said : "Everyone at Balham is so proud of former player Fabio Carvalho who is doing great things at Fulham. The 18 year old boy wonder, who was at Balham for 3 years before joining Fulham, got MOTM on Sky v Millwall tonight after scoring and assisting in Fulham's dominant 2-1 victory."

Balham FC currently play in the Combined Counties League Premier South (tier 9 in the English football pyramid) and play at the Mayfield Stadium in Croydon.
