Residents in Wandsworth are taking to Twitter to voice their anger over delayed Christmas tree collections.
Prior to the festive period Wandsworth Council informed residents that trees would be collected by the council, free of charge between January 4 and 14.
However, some residents have dumped trees on the pavement causing obstruction for people with mobility issues or push chairs.
The council took to social media to remind people to leave their trees by their dustbins for collection.
One local resident wrote on Twitter: "Hi @wandbc when will you be collecting the trees? This happens every year. You said from 4th Jan but now it's over a week later and Tooting's streets are littered with trees, making it difficult and dangerous to navigate pavements, especially with buggies or mobility scooters etc."
Wandsworth Council were quick to respond and defend the delay, they said: "Please bear with us [] as we collect the approx 100,000 trees we deal with every January. We will visit and collect yours asap but our crews are currently being diverted to remove those that the impatient have dumped on pavements thus causing the obstructions you describe."
Be sure to leave your trees by your bins and to not obstruct the pavement.
