Four much-loved ferrets were taken from a community farm in Merton on Sunday night (20th December).

Deen City Farm, situated at 38 Windsor Avenue, has been left 'heartbroken' by the theft.

Two men have been caught in the act on the farm's CCTV.

The owners are appealing for help in identifying the thieves.

A spokesperson for the farm said: "We miss them dearly, our staff are heartbroken."

Deen City Farm is a registered charity and runs on donations from Merton Council, visitors and the work of their volunteers.

The farm aims to teach the local community about rural environment and where their food comes from.

Many nearby residents have been speaking out on social media to voice their anger at the 'senseless' act.

One resident said: "Its disgusting to even think what do they want with these poor little helpless animals, really hope you get to the bottom of this."
