A man whose life was saved at St George's Hospital following a cycling accident will be attempting to cycle the equivalent of the UK.
Chris Sole had a cycling accident in 2011 and was saved by the team at the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at St George's Hospital.
9 years on, Chris says he has missed being on his bike and therefore has set himself this massive challenge.
Chris will be cycling the equivalent of the UK from his indoor bike at home to raise money for both St George's Hospital Charity and The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity.
Chris will be riding 776.7 miles (1,250km) on his bike, touring what would be the whole of Britain.
He will be completing the ride in 8 stages, which will take most of November and December.
Chris said: "It is great to have my bike to keep me fit and healthy but also raise money to say thank you to the teams that saved my life.
"It is so nice that I am back cycling."
The team at St George's Hospital Charity and the team in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit say they will be cheering Chris on through virtual platforms every step (and pedal) of the way.
