Mamma Dough has been serving up handcrafted sourdough pizzas to hungry South Londoners since 2013, and Tooting Bec locals can get a slice of the action with our seventh pizzeria on Balham High Road.

With a commitment to sourcing top notch ingredients from the British Isles where possible as well as locally brewed craft beer, Mamma Dough is your go-to for a delicious, relaxed, and homely dining experience.

The star of the show is the dough - made with a natural, organic yeast sourdough starter, known as the "Mamma," which creates a lively, flavourful and distinctive taste.

The result is a thin, pillowy base that's crispy where you want it and soft where you need it.

The Toppings

When it comes to the toppings, provenance is key, with the restaurant shining a light on quality British ingredients.

Whilst Italy is better known for its cheeses, the plump, flavourful English mozzarella and burrata are fresher and taste just as good as their Italian counterparts.

The team take pride in making as much as they can from scratch in-house, including the tomato, pesto and white pizza sauces.

Vegetables and herbs are seasonal and locally grown wherever possible, ensuring they're as fresh as can be.

The Pizzas

The Margherita is a heaven for tomato lovers, thick with fresh, zingy passata, but the more adventurous types will be treated to a whole host of inventive toppings.

For those who love butternut squash, go for the Beatrice, a tomato-based pizza with lashings of mozzarella, butternut squash, feta, pine nuts and rosemary; or dance with the 'Devil,' a spicy, tomato-based pizza with mozzarella, salami, calabrese, onions, nduja, dried chilli and olives.

Each location has cheeky daily specials like the Dirty Girl – tomato, spicy n'duja, rocket and creamy burratina; the Poker Cheese with mozzarella, gorgonzola, scamorza and parmesan; and the Moby Pig – mozzarella, pancetta, egg, black pepper and parmesan.

As far as desserts go, the Hazelnight is not to be missed - a calzone half-moon pizza stuffed with Nutella and topped with mascarpone sauce.

Other desserts, completely made from scratch, include tiramisu and a gooey chocolate brownie.

Locals can order via the phone, the app or the website, so you can enjoy Mamma Dough's sourdough pizzas in a matter of minutes.
