A Furzedown family has had their giant Christmas snowman stolen from outside their home.

Angela Heck, Penwortham Road, says that the snowman was her children's favourite and Christmas has been ruined by the theft.

"We spend our time and money to bring joy to the children in our street," Angela wrote on social media.

"Why on earth would someone do this?

"If anyone sees the big snowman on the right without arms, please let us know."

Fellow residents have been shocked at the 'diabolical' crime and sending support to the family.

One resident said: "Nasty people who steal things like this are so low. It's such a shame that you can't put up decorations without worrying whether they'll be there the next day."

Another resident said: "We need our spirits to be lifted right now and enjoy all the good things the festive season brings, not be reminded of the low lives who have nothing better to do than bring misery. I believe in karma."

Please contact us if you spot the snowman - it would be amazing to get him home in time for Christmas.
