A free fun day will be taking place tomorrow on Fishponds Playing Fields.

The playing fields, located on 91a Hebdon Road, have been open to the public all half-term (between the times of 9am and 4pm), and this Wednesday (October 27) there will be a special fun day taking place.

Anyone is welcome and there are a host of activities taking place.

A bake sale will be taking place for St George's, there will be nature walks and crafts, a range of games taking place for children and an opportunity to try a host of new sports, and there will also be a chance to meet your fellow neighbours.

It will be kick off at noon and will run until 2pm.

A successful trial was run in the summer to see whether it was worthwhile keeping the field open to the public.

The council had opened the fields from 10am-6pm during the summer months, offering a range of activities for either free or affordable prices. Resutlingy, an average of 350 adults and children visited the field each week.

Now the field is open five days a week at the following times:

Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9am-12 noon and 3pm-5:30pm

Tuesday & Thursday – Closed

Saturday & Sunday – 10am-4pm
