Former Balham FC youngster is attracting interest from Real Madrid

By Tommy Joyce 3rd Nov 2021

A footballer who played for Balham FC as a youngster has been linked with the most successful football club of all time.

Fabio Carvalho, who was at the club between 2012 and 2015, is currently one of the stars of the Championship. The 19-year-old has played six times this season, scoring three and assisting one. He has missed a chunk of the campaign with a toe injury but is now returning to fitness.

He's had heaps of praise on him this season, including from Pointless quizmaster Richard Osman.

Carvalho's contract expires in the summer - and now some of the biggest teams from across Europe are chasing his signature, including - that's right - Real Madrid.

Spanish paper Marca is reporting that Carvalho has snubbed a deal at Fulham and that Real are waiting in the wings to pick up the attacking midfielder.

Los Blancos are the most successful football club in world football. They have won the Champions League/European Cup 13 times, the World Club Cup four times and La Liga 34 times - the record holder for each competition.

The Lisbon-born prodigy is not short of potential suitors, with clubs such as West Ham, Leeds and Porto all showing interest, as per the Mail Online.

With Carvalho's contract coming to an end, all sorts of rumours are to be expected over the next months.

Balham FC currently play in the Combined Counties League Premier South (tier 9 in the English football pyramid) and play at the Mayfield Stadium in Croydon.
