Bordelaise, a popular French restaurant in Tooting Broadway Market, will be offering free school lunches throughout half term.

This comes following a number of Tooting eateries vowed to help the community by offering schoolchildren meals for free.

Businesses have followed suit after Marcus Rashford's call for an extension of free school meals to include half term and Christmas was rejected by the government.

Bordelaise will be offering steak, fish, and pasta options with a side of fries, green beans, and salad - all served with an ice-cream dessert.

Aleix Morales, co-owner of Bordelaise, told Nub News:

"We want to help as much as possible.

"I know there are a lot of parents that are struggling at the moment and if we can make even a little difference, it'll be worth it.

"All of the meals we will serve will be to the same top-quality standard as our usual meals."

Bordelaise will run the offer for two weeks with a possible extension if they feel it is viable.

Any schoolchild wanting a free meal will need to come with an older guardian.

Where else in Tooting is offering free school lunches?

Meat and Shake Tooting, situated on Upper Tooting Road will offer free meals to anyone who asks for them from 12pm - 5pm starting from Monday.

Beyroots Lebanese Streetfood, situated in Tooting Broadway Market, will be offering free lunches throughout half term - 12 - 2.30pm starting on Monday.
