Tooting Ward Police yesterday announced they would be upping their patrols following multiple reports of a male acting suspiciously in Tooting Common.

Nub News previously reported on a claim of sexual assault and sexual harassment in Tooting Common.

The police have asked that anyone with any information to contact them directly or call 101.

Bedford Ward Police have also confirmed they will be increasing their patrols in light of the reports.

The team are urging people to come forward and report the claims directly to them - as they are concerned that they are missing many of the claims made on social media channels.

A spokesperson said: "However our main concern is not many reports have actually come through to us, as people appear to be posting on social media rather than reporting it to police.

"This makes it difficult for us to find a pattern regarding times and descriptions.

"On Twitter I am able to see what people are reporting and advise them to report through the correct channels however we are not part of any facebook pages.

"I would urge anyone with any information to come forward to put even the smallest details can help us build a bigger picture of who we're looking for.

"Victim's should be calling 999 at the time/when they are safe. Officers will then come to the area and carry out an area search.

"This will make an arrest much more likely."
