Tooting: Two new chicken shops set to open within a stone's throw of each other

Two new chicken shops are coming to Tooting Broadway, both within nine numbers of each other

Chicken City and Chesters Chicken are both to be opening soon according to the shop fronts, with the pair being located on Mitcham Road.

Chicken City is set to be replacing Meza at 70 Mitcham Road. The Lebanese restaurant Meza still has two other locations in Tooting, one on 34 Trinity Road (near Tooting Bec station) and the other within Tooting Market.

Chesters Chicken will be opening a branch at 79 Mitcham Road. This is where US Junction Menswear was previously located (next to Subway).

Chesters is a chain with a number of shops up and down the country, from Preston to Ilford. As per its menu in Preston, you can expect peri-peri chicken, pizzas and burgers, though it's not confirmed all of that will feature in Tooting.

As for Chicken City, it seems as if this is the first of its kind, with the company Chicken City Tooting Ltd registering on July 26. Therefore, we don't have much of an idea on its menu, but we will be sure to update you as and when.

While there is no opening date for either shop yet, we will keep you posted with information as soon as we get it.
