No arrests have yet been made after a man was found with stab wounds on Garratt Lane earlier this afternoon.
The Met Police have confirmed that they were called (October 21) to reports of an assault and attended and found a man who was suffering from a stab injury.
As a result of the incident, Garratt Lane was closed in both directions between Skelbrook Road and Earlsfield Station.
Police have said that they are still waiting on an update on the man's health.
A Met Police spokesperson told Tooting Nub News: "Police were called at 14:32hrs on Thursday, 21 October to reports of an assault on Garratt Lane, SW18.
"Officers attended and found a man suffering from a stab injury. He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital; we await an update on his condition.
"At this early stage, there have been no arrests.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 4165/21Oct."
An anonymous witness told MyLondon that they saw a fight between four people and they saw someone pull out a machete.
They said: "I was walking home from the station and I heard lots of shouting.
"There were four men having a fight literally in the middle of the road
"Two of them had jumped out of their car, what looked like a builders van. I thought it was a drunken fight but it turned out a lot more serious.
"I thought one of them had a baseball bat but then I realised it was a machete."
