Tooting and surrounding areas have seen a sharp increase in coronavirus cases in the most recently revealed figures.

Wandsworth Borough has had 210 cases in the last seven days recorded (June 20 - June 26) , meaning the total number is up by 51.6 per cent.

Overall that leaves the borough with 617 cases, which means for every 100,000 people there are 187.2 cases of Covid-19.

Springfield is the area that has seen the sharpest increase of cases , with 13 positive tests more than doubling its total cases to 25. 252.2 people for every 100,000 have the virus in that area.

The figures for positive cases in Wandsworth are worse than the national average and for London.

For the period between June 20 and June 26, London had 11,794 new cases, which works out to 131.6 people having caught the virus out of 100,000.

There were a total of 90,149 people who had positive tests during the same period, correlating to England having a rate of 160.2 people out of 100,000 having confirmed cases of Covid-19.
