A new 'huge' Lidl in Tooting's historic RACs building has been given an opening date.

ThenewstoresformpartofLidl'scommitmenttoexpansioninLondon,announcedlastyear,asitlookstoinvest£500minnewstoresacrossthecapitaloverthenextfiveyears,creatingaround1,400jobs.

Surplusfoodandcustomerdonationsfromthenewstoreswillalsobenefitanumberoflocalcharitieswhoworktoredistributethemtosomeofthemostvulnerableinourcommunities.

ThisincludesRichmondAdviceandInformationonDisability,TheIslamicCultureandEducationCentreBatterseaandRonaldMcDonaldHouseTooting.

ThisisdeliveredthroughLidl'ssuccessfulFeeditBackscheme,whichisrunalongsideitscharitypartner,Neighbourly.
