A Met Police officer has pleaded guilty to the kidnapping and raping of Sarah Everard.

PC Wayne Couzens today at the Old Bailey, pleaded guilty to charges of kidnap and rape.

A plea has not been given for murder as medical reports are still awaiting.

Sarah Everard, 33, went missing on her walk home in Clapham from Brixton.

Ms Everard's body was tragically found in a woodland in Ashford Kent a week later.

PC Wayne Couzens reportedly accepted responsibility for Sarah Everard's death but has not entered a guilty plea for murder.

The BBC has reported that 4 members of Ms Everard's family were present at the court.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Sarah Everard tragically died as a result of compression of the neck.

Wayne Couzens joined the MPS on 10 September 2018.

His first posting was to South Area where he joined a response team covering the Bromley area.

He then moved to the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command on 1 February 2020 where his primary role was on uniformed patrol duties of diplomatic premises, mainly a range of Embassies.
