Council proposes to resurface Tooting Bec Athletics Track by next summer

Wandsworth Council has confirmed that there are plans to resurface Tooting Bec Athletics Track.

After campaigning from Tooting MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan and from Herne Hill Harriers, it seems now their hard work has paid off, with a £527,000 proposed to fix the track by next summer.

Tooting Lido £3m investment plan revealed, providing a facility ready for next 50 years

Tooting Bec Athletics Track was not the only local facility to receive news about new investment.

The council has announced plans on investing £3m into the lido, which would help secure its future for 50 years.

Staff at St George's Hospital were treated to a food festival last week as thanks for their hard work during the pandemic.

Funded by the trust and St George's Hospital Charity, staff had a variety of sweet and savoury options, including wraps, noodles, popcorn, churros and more.

Tory candidate accused of 'blatant electioneering' in by-election after £2.5m investment revelation

A Conservative candidate for the upcoming Bedford ward by-election has been accused of 'electioneering' by his Labour rival.

Tom Mytton, the Tory candidate, announced information about the lido and athletics track before the council, leading to his rivals criticising him for the announcement.

The by-election is on November 25.

Planning application for 15m mast in Earlsfield has 49 objections in five days

A planning application for a telecommunications mast to appear in Earlsfield had 49 objections in just five days.

One woman, Mrs H Dexter, said it would be "totally unneeded" within her objection.

The application was made by CK Hutchinson Networks (the business which runs Three in the UK).
