A heart attack survivor and keen athlete has announced he will be running the virtual marathon from Enfield to Tooting.

Geoffrey Donohoe, 42, recently ran nineteen miles to The Ramble Inn after seeing they were open for takeaway pints on Boxing Day.

Now Geoffrey will be running a 26-mile route from his home to the iconic pub for the 2021 Virtual London Marathon on October 3rd.

"I plan to start 9am like most races and I aim to reach The Ramble Inn before 1pm," Geoffrey told Nub News.

The planned route will bring Geoffrey past Hyde Park Corner, The Oval, Vauxhall Bridge, Tooting & Mitcham FC grounds and to finally to the pub for the finish.

Shock heart attack in 2016

Geoffrey Donohoe suffered his shock heart attack when he was 37.

While running the Birmingham Half Marathon he felt severe chest pain three miles away from the end of the race.

Geoffrey previously told Nub News: "I finished the last three miles of the race with the pain and luckily for me there were medics at the finish line.

"It was the scariest moment of my life."

Geoffrey received top-tier care at the hospital in Birmingham and has thanked Valarie Nangale, a cardiac nurse who helped him get back to full health.

Geoffrey said that he used to believe he could burn off whatever junk he was eating the next day.

Now, Geoffrey is living a healthier lifestyle and is keen to continue his passion for running in the many years to come.

The 19 mile run to The Ramble Inn

Geoffrey Donohoe ran from his home in Enfield to The Ramble Inn after seeing that they were open for takeaway pints on Boxing Day.

The run clocked in at 19.77 miles and Geoffrey managed the amazing feat in just over two hours.

Geoffrey previously told Nub News: "The Guinness in The Ramble Inn is the best in London.

"Coronavirus has meant that I haven't been able to go and see the friends I've made there and drink that tasty Guinness.

"That's why I jumped at the opportunity to do both on Boxing Day."
