Have your say on where Tooting Common will place international award

Tooting Common has been given an international award - and now you have the opportunity of choosing where its prize will go.
Last year Tooting Common was awarded Green Flag status. This award is an international mark of quality and recognised standard for well-managed parks and green spaces all over the world.
A big pole will now go up in the park with a green flag which will hang proudly. However, where the pole will go has not been decided yet, and that's where Tooting Common needs your help.
Park-goers are being urged to have a vote on where they want the pole to go.
A survey released by the Tooting Commons Management Advisory Committee (TMAC) gives options for where the pole will go. The three main options are by the cafe near Bedford HIll and Hillbury Road, by the water fountain at the junction of Dr Johnson Avenue and Tooting Bec Road or by the Ecology Pond at the junction of Elmbourne and Tooting Bec Roads. There is also an option to suggest elsewhere if you feel it should go somewhere else.
To have your say, you can do so on this Survey Monkey survey - it only takes 30 seconds or so. Voting closes on October 12.
Kirsten Booting, the TCMAC secretary, said: "Our parks and commons were a lifeline for many of us during lockdown. We are lucky to have a well-managed park on our doorstep, which the TCMAC is protecting for future generations. And it is great that it has been recognised with the Green Flag award.
"I think we can all get a little bit complacent about our park but it's a really well-managed something that the community should be proud of."
