The plaque which will be unveiled to remember the time of Marc Bolan can now be seen online.

Geoff Simmons, the founder of the Summerstown 182 Community History Project Summerstown 182 Community History Project, posted the picture of the plaque to his Twitter page.

Marc Bolan lived in Summerstown during the 1960s - and now the rock star will be commemorated for the time he spent living in the area.

Marc Bolan, born as Mark Feld, moved to the area at 13 when his family relocated from Stoke Newington in 1961. It was in this area where he learnt poetry and began busking, outside the Prince of Wales pub, which is now a Tesco Express.

The musician was known for being the founder and leader of psychedelic folk group T. Rex, who produced classics such as Get it On, Children Of The Revolution and I love to Boogie . He is undoubtedly one of the biggest pop stars of his generation.

The musician and poet sadly died after a car crash in Barnes two weeks before his 30th birthday.

The plaque will be unveiled on September 18 - exactly 50 years after Get It On was number one in the charts in the UK.

A guided walk will happen from Tooting Boadway station, walking through some of the areas where Marc Bolan would've walked, before unveiling the plaque outside Summerstown Tesco Express - the location where he used to busk.

Money was raised for the plaque on an online fundraiser set up by Geoff Simmons. You can still donate and the additional funds will be used to promote the event.

There will also be a guided walk in build-up to the event from St Andrews Church in Earlsfield. This will run from 6pm on Monday September 13.

You can find more information, such as how to attend these walks and unveilings, from the Summerstown182 website or Geoff Simmons' personal Twitter page.
